How to measure your basal body temperature

  1. Get enough rest

After at least  3-4 hours of sleep and before getting out of bed take your temperature. Do this at the same time each day.

  1. Position the thermometer in the desired location

You can measure your basal temperature using your mouth, vagina, rectum or armpit. Thermometer will beep once complete.

  1. Record your temperature

Write your temperature down everyday. You can use a graph, list or phone application

  1. Determine your fertile window

Your basal temperature drops just before ovulation. Then after the egg is released from the ovary your temperature rises and stays up for several days. Your fertile window is 2 days before and 3 days after ovulation.
